It’s easy to focus on the details, to get bogged down looking at the little parts, the individual factors, and to miss the big picture. I find myself doing this in dentistry at times, and whilst the details are crucial, I have to remind myself that “It’s about the people, not just the teeth.”
It’s always been my desire to care for people in a way that I would want myself and my family to be cared for. To see people brought back out of a place of darkness, pain, and reduced self-worth, into a place of joy and freedom is my own personal reward. Fairly lofty ideals for a dentist, I know, but it’s something that I strive to achieve each day with each connection to my patients.
This is why I am so excited to be joining the team at Smile by Design.
Simone and the beautiful staff have created a place where people can feel welcomed as friends and cared for as family. My hope in joining this wonderful practice is to grow our capacity to treat more needs with more options. To be able to offer the best service in a wide array of areas is my ultimate goal.
My own personal path as a practitioner has led me to study nutritional medicine, homotoxicology, breathing retraining, functional orthodontics, complex treatment of headaches & TMJ issues, aesthetic and restorative treatments amongst other areas. This has led to working with a wide variety of health practitioners including physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, nutritional and integrative GPs, kinesiologists, bioresonance therapists, naturopaths and podiatrists… all in a pursuit of the best possible outcomes for patients.
I’m looking forward to meeting many existing and new patients of the practice and to have ongoing conversations regarding health, nutrition, preventative programs, functional and postural improvements. To see the health of kids and adults improved as wholly as possible is a rewarding experience for both you the patient as well as for every member of the team at Smile By Design.
